TERMS · DATA USE
The rule in one line: pages are discoverable, the compiled database is not copyable. Search and AI answer engines may read and cite; bulk extraction and republication are not permitted.
The CanCon Radio database — the compilation of catalogue metadata, chart archives, awards records, certifications, and derived statistics — is the result of substantial investment and is licensed, not crawlable. You may browse, search, quote with attribution, and link. You may not bulk-download, scrape, mirror, or republish the database, in whole or in substantial part, by automated or manual means. Commercial use requires a license (see Advertise and the licensing pack). Facts themselves remain free; our compilation, enrichment, and ongoing updates are the asset.
Our robots.txt spells out the technical policy: pages stay crawlable for search engines and named AI answer engines (at human pace, crawl-delay 2); /api/ paths are closed to everyone; known bulk harvesters are named and denied. robots.txt is voluntary — it creates legal clarity and stops well-behaved bots, not determined copiers. That's why the license, the constantly refreshed data, and detection mechanisms matter more than the file itself.
